The cyclone caused extensive danger to houses, crops, school, buildings, roads, trees, and disrupted electricity, and telecommunication system. Thousands of people were confirmed dead after it had slammed into the coast. Hundreds of fishing boats caught in sidr failed to return to the shore. Experts described sidr as similar in strength to the 1991 storm that killed 138000 people. Government and other non government sources provided immediate help to the sidr victim. Many countries and donor agencies came forward to provide food and shelter for them. The devastation caused by sidr was irreplaceable. Bangladesh’s economy has suffered a lot such a calamity.
